Do you look at people differently because of their social status? What visual cues do you use to decide if someone is high or low class? In some cultures, people are given high status in virtue of the family they were born into; in other cultures, what matters is what you have achieved by yourself. We have found that these cross culture differences in status influence how people judge and look at each other.
